bandage gastric bypass
Banded Bypass Surgery is a modification of RYGB that enhances its restrictive component. The rationale for adding a band to gastric bypass surgery is that pocket and stoma dimensions are important for weight loss and maintenance.
In the GBP band (gastric bypass), the pocket and stoma dimensions are calibrated, standardized and reinforced. There is even evidence that the band in the GBP also results in a lower incidence of outlet stenosis requiring dilatation, dumping syndrome, and reactive hypoglycemia.

In the same light, it makes sense to tie up the sleeve. Since sleeve gastrectomy is purely restrictive, it is possible to "prolong" the effect of the restriction by adding a Fobi ring, MiniMizer ring, or Midcal ring to it.
